How I Fixed My Digestion by Eating in Order

I blamed my digestion on everything except my fork. Greasy food, stress, eating too fast, I cycled through theories for years. Then a friend mentioned she fixed her bloating by eating foods in a specific order, and I laughed at her too.

I am not laughing anymore, because it worked for me.

The order that changed things

The rule is simple: vegetables first, protein second, starches and sugars last. Fiber and protein start the meal, and the carbs come after. That order gives your stomach an easier job.

Why the order matters

Vegetables digest fast and get things moving. Protein takes longer and keeps you full. Starches and sugars last so they do not sit on top of slower foods and ferment. The result is less bloating and a calmer stomach.

How I actually do it

I start dinner with a salad or a few bites of whatever vegetable is on the plate. Then I eat the meat or beans. The rice, bread, or potatoes go last. It is not strict, I just make sure the vegetables come first.

It is not a diet

The food is the same, the plate is the same, only the order changes. No foods are off limits, which is why the habit stuck. I eat the same meals, just in a different sequence.

Drink water between bites, not after

Washing a meal down with a big glass of water at the end dilutes stomach acid. Sip during the meal instead, and save the big glass for later.

Give it two weeks

Digestion does not change overnight. Stick with the order for two weeks before you judge it. My bloating eased in about ten days, and the heavy feeling after meals faded too.

I still eat the same foods, including the ones I used to blame. The difference is the order, and my stomach finally stopped complaining.

📋 Quick Summary: Eat vegetables first, protein second, and starches last to ease bloating and improve digestion.
